In a Facebook post to its more than 43,000 followers, the restaurant claimed to offer a solution for men who refuse to eat. The post included a picture of Ruiz and one of the tortillas. In the Facebook post, Tortillería Ruby commented, "If your husband is disheartened and doesn't want to eat, at Tortillería Ruby we have the solution: take him Karely Ruiz's tortillas so he can show off that he ate this pretty girl several times." Given how many people have tagged the eatery in their social media posts about eating these tortillas, they are undoubtedly becoming more and more popular.

Ruiz joined in the fun by posting a Facebook status about the tortillas. "Would you eat me?" she asked her more than 2.8 million fans on her social media. Many of her followers left comments on her post, with one of them writing, "Not even if I was very hungry I would eat that 2 peso omelette."
