What Is Tsuguko In Demon Slayer?
Tengen first uses this term when he is fighting Gyutaro, and suddenly Tanjiro, Inouske, and Zenitsu appear from nowhere. Tengen says, “All three of them are my excellent Tsugukos.”
Tsuguko is basically a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slyer Corps who is gifted with such good combat abilities that he can become a Hashira one day. This means that Tengen keeps high hopes from all three of them. And he believes that they will become Hashira one day.
But a Tsuguko has not yet become a Hashira. They have to shed sweat, blood, and tears and increase their capabilities to match that of a Hashira. A Tsuguko can either apply to become one or be found by a current Hashira. The Hashira that a Tsuguko follows is usually the one who uses the same breathing style as they use.
Under the guidance of their Hashira, Tsuguko develops their skills. When that time comes, and the current Hashira is in no state to continue their service, their Tsuguko replaces them. The best example of a Hashira and their perfect Tsuguko is Shinobu Kocho (Hashira) and Kanao Tsuyuri (Tsuguko).
