Transgender Model Hari Nef Stars in L'Oréal Paris Campaign

Last night was a big one in terms of beauty, and not just because of all the looks on the Golden Globes red carpet. While you were watching the awards, you might have noticed a boundary being broken: Transgender model Hari Nef emerged as the star of a new L'Oreal Paris ad campaign that celebrates the beauty of diversity, with the first commercial airing last night during the Globes broadcast.

The minute-long spot—created to promote the brand's True Match foundation line—features a few other familiar faces, including the brand's global spokeswomen Blake Lively, as well as models Lara Stone, Alexina Graham, and Xiao Wen Ju, and plus-size models Sabina Karlsson and Marquita Pring.

The model, 24, tweeted her excitement before the [Golden Globes] started, writing: "[I]'m in a @loreal campaign and that's wild to me." She went on to share her own spot in the "Your Skin, Your Story" campaign on both Twitter and Instagram. "Skin is the first thing you see," she says in the ad. "Just being seen in your skin can be so vulnerable."
