Taylor Swift selfie with Jaguars quarterback resurfaces after Trevor Lawrence ankle injury
C.J. Beathard was ahead of the curve.
Long before Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce became famously associated with Taylor Swift, the backup quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars was getting up close and personal with the international pop music superstar.

A photo posted to Twitter in 2017 recently re-emerged after Beathard took over for an injured Trevor Lawrence during the Jaguars' 34-31 overtime defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals.
While backup QB Jake Browning ultimately stole the show for the Bengals, Beathard filled in admirably for Lawrence, who was forced to leave the game with an ankle injury and had to be helped off the field.
Beathard, a third round pick out of Iowa by the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, completed 9-of-10 passes for 63 yards and a 92.9 rating.
At some point during his youth, the Tennessee native apparently took a photo with a young, smiling Swift.

Beathard looks cool and composed in the picture, much like he was on the field on Tuesday while replacing Lawrence.
The former third-rounder has played for two NFL teams (San Francisco, Jacksonville) while trying to find a lasting spot in the NFL.
Beathard went 2-10 as a semi-starter for the 49ers, completing 59.5 percent of his passes for 3,614 yards, 18 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
He's played in 11 games for the Jaguars but has barely seen any real action.

Beathard has only thrown 27 passes since joining Jacksonville in 2021.
But he's stuck around in the NFL for six seasons and his completion percentage with the Jaguars highlights why.
Beathard has connected on 77.8 percent of his passes with Jacksonville.
The Jaguars (8-4) travel to Cleveland to face the Browns on Sunday.
Lawrence's game status is still to be determined, which means that Beathard could make his first start for Jacksonville years after snapping a photo with Swift.
