Taylor Swift’s Fake Bob Has Some Swifties Screaming ‘1989,’ but Her Caption Has Others Shouting ‘Double Drop’

Everybody have their detective caps on? Because Taylor Swift just made a public appearance and a public statement, and the conspiracy theories among devoted Swifties are already popping off. Is Swift's fake bob a callback to 1989 ahead of the rerelease? Is Swift hinting at a surprise double album drop?

For the Los Angeles premiere of her Eras Tour concert film, Swift wore a sweeping princess gown in light blue—which is the official color of her 1989 album. Swifties also clocked the faux bob hairdo the songwriter wore for the premiere, which strongly recalled the curly lob Swift was rocking back in 2014, when the original 1989 album premiered. Swift has already announced that 1989 (Taylor's Version) is set to drop on October 27, so it's not a leap to think this styling was intentional.

But of course, there's more. On Twitter and Instagram, Swift announced that due to demand, she's going to be premiering the Eras Tour film in theaters a day earlier than scheduled, and this is where the album double-drop theories come in. In her statement she wrote, “Andddd I can’t really wrap my head around this but…. Look what you genuinely made me do: Due to unprecedented demand we’re opening up early access showings of The Eras Tour Concert Film on THURSDAY in America and Canada!!” The line “Look what you made me do” is also the title of Reputation's lead single. Coincidence? Swifties think not.
