SkRossi announces indefinite break from competitive Valorant before VCT 2023
SkRossi’s recent announcement of taking an indefinite break from Competitive Valorant has sent the entire Valorant community into frenzy. With the new VCT lined up for Global Esports, Ganesh ‘SkRossi’ Gangadhar backing out will create some serious issues for his parent team.
This announcement comes as a surprise since SkRossi was confirmed as a permanent member of the Global Esports roster early this month, which some fans took up as a record of his guaranteed participation. But now with him deciding to step down, Global Esports might choose to replace him or keep a spot vacant until he wishes to make his return.

SkRossi gave cryptic hints on Twitter
In a recent message, SkRossi tweeted: “Started like a king in my region and will leave(for now) like a king ,happy and sad playing lan one last time with the boys I love the most , no expectations f*ck results just gonna enjoy the time with them and make good memories together.” However, the real nature of this message has not been deciphered, leading to a host of internet speculation, with some fans asking Global Esports to drop him from their Roster and find replacements ahead of the upcoming VCT 2023.
Global Esports are, however, well equipped to deal with this situation since they already have ten players in their roster, which means even if SkRossi takes a leave for some time, there are players that can easily fill in and take up his spot. So far, no announcement has come from the franchise itself and the fans will be expecting the owner of Global Esports, Dr. Rushindra Sinha to react to this sudden disruption in his team’s roster ahead of the Challengers Tournament. SkRossi has been a part of the team since the initiation of the competitive roster, so it remains to be found out if the team indeed chooses to replace him.

Fans have speculated the SkRossi might be heading to Korea for a secret boot camp, but nothing consolidated has come out yet. With the deadline for the final rosters to be submitted fast approaching or all partnered teams in October, the entire roster is disrupted by this sudden decision. The VCT 2023 is scheduled to kick off in February next year, so unless SkRossi makes himself available by then, he seems to be well cut off for this season.
It will be interesting to find out who Global Esports replace their talismanic duelist with. With SkRossi out of the picture, Global Esports are up for a tough season ahead.
