Single-car crash kills 1, injured 2 in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. — One person is dead and two others are injured after a single-car crash in Shelby County Monday morning.

The deceased victim was identified as 29-year-old Darian Herald, of Fairland. The Shelby County Sheriff's Department said a 33-year-old man and a 5-year-old boy were both seriously injured in the crash and were taken to Indianapolis hospitals for their injuries.

Officials are searching for an explanation as to why the vehicle went off of London Road while going northbound. The investigation is ongoing.

The spot of the crash is around 25 miles southeast of downtown Indianapolis.
