Director Catherine Hardwicke and Josh Horowitz recently met for a watch-along as the director celebrated 15 years of the release of Twilight. Talking about some other looks for Pattinson, Hardwicke revealed that she did experiment with Edward Cullen having long hair via hair extensions. The director revealed to Happy Sad Confused that The Batman actor threw a tantrum to have them removed!

“I love guys with long hair so I thought ‘Oh my god, he [Robert Pattinson] would look so good with long hair’. So we did hair extensions on him and he put the extensions in and he hated them. He’s like ‘No, no…Do not torture me’ and I’m like ‘Okay'”.

In a separate interview, Pattinson revealed that starring in The Twilight Saga was one of the hardest things that he ever had to face in his career. With his character being immortal and all, Pattinson had a tough time keeping his character interesting.

Portraying the role of a vampire who inevitably falls in love with a human, Pattinson did find his career breakthrough with the role. The actor, however, ended up hating the fact that his character was immortal and as per his interview with The Guardian, Pattinson had to be creative.

“I think Twilight’s probably the hardest part I’ve done. because to do it for five movies, it’s really hard to think of stuff that’s maybe not boring. Especially if you don’t die.”

He further continued,

“Because what’s the drama? You’re not scared of anything! And that’s the whole essence of drama: life and death.”

With Pattinson portraying the role of Edward Cullen, Twilight received a rating of 5.3/10 on IMDB and 49% on Rotten Tomatoes with the movie being called “cheesy”. The 2008 movie is available to stream on Prime Video in the U.S.
