Olivia Flowers Reveals What Went Down When Austen Kroll Met Her New Man

Olivia Flowers is spilling the tea on her romantic life.

The Southern Charm-er addressed the topic during a recent appearance on the Viall Files podcast, where she provided more details about her new mystery man.

“He’s from Dallas. We met at a wedding,” she said during the November 30 episode. “I was my dad’s date to a wedding, and [my dad] was late to it and he had a business meeting. So I’m walking into this wedding by myself — late — and [Alex] was the usher and he’s like, ‘Can I walk you down the aisle?’ I was like, ‘It’s a little soon, but OK. I’m just kidding.'”

She continued: “He’s in finance, too, so he didn’t know anything about the show. So that was fun introducing it to him.”

Fans got their first glimpse at Alex back in November, when Olivia shared an inside look at their tropical getaway with friends, including her castmate/ex-boyfriend, Austen Kroll. Although the trip could’ve easily turned tense and a little awkward, Olivia revealed that the situation was surprisingly pleasant, as Austen and Alex immediately clicked on the golf course.

“Well, they met, everything went well,” she said. “I told him — ‘cause Alex can get extra nice when he’s drunk and be buddy-buddy — and I was like, ‘Babe, just go. Obviously, have fun and be nice, but you don’t have to be besties with him.’ ... And sure enough, three hours later, they’re coming up on the golf cart together. There were, like, four golf carts, but they were in one together, and I was like, ‘Goddammit.'”

Olivia and Austen began dating during Southern Charm Season 8 but called it quits before the reunion special. The split became more complicated during Season 9 after Austen revealed he had kissed Olivia’s good friend Taylor Ann Green, who was also the ex-girlfriend of his Southern Charm castmate Shep Rose.

With so much drama playing out on-screen, many wondered how the former couple ended up on a vacation together. Olivia addressed the question during the lengthy Viall Files sit-down.

“So we have mutual friends that have this sick place in the Bahamas, and he and I both got them in the divorce,” she said with a laugh. “They invited us both on this trip with a group of people, and we both went... We were able to put our bulls--t aside. We were around these adults and people who don’t give a s--t about the Charm drama."

Olivia admitted she will always have "a soft spot" for her and Austen's friendship, but said there were lingering issues they had to hash out.

“It’s just, right now, we’re just trying to figure out how to be around each other and be good and put the bulls--t aside,” she explained. “There’s still a lot to say there, but that’s what the reunion is for.”

A day after the interview premiered, Olivia returned to Instagram to share several peeks at her and Alex’s romantic trip to Mexico City. She posted photos of their JW Marriott suite, a snap of the St. Regis' holiday decor, and a video of Alex flexing his Spanish skills. “Mas español por favor,” she captioned the latter post.
