Naruto Creator Redesigns Dragon Ball Cover to Commemorate Series' 40th Anniversary

Dragon Ball, written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama, is an incredible Japanese manga series. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump back in 1984, and since then, we’ve seen several anime series based on it.

In three years, the legendary manga series will be celebrating its 40th anniversary. However, the Saikyo Jump issue has already commemorated the anniversary by releasing a new cover for Dragon Ball Volume 11. And interestingly, Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of the legendary Naruto series, had redesigned the new cover.

Dragon Ball 40th Anniversary

To commemorate the upcoming 40th anniversary of the manga series, different manga creators will pick a random Dragon Ball volume and redesign its cover.

Saikyo Jump plans to start this new Dragon Ball Super gallery project to honor the franchise’s incredible legacy. Apparently, the new project will begin in Saikyo Jump September Issue, set to release on August 4th, 2021.

Each month, a different mangaka will redesign a new Dragon Ball cover, and this will go on every month for three years until November 2024.

Interestingly, the mangaka who will kickstart the new project is Masashi Kishimoto, creator of the Naruto series. Kishimoto has worked on the Dragon Ball‘s Volume 11 cover, and honestly, it looks pretty incredible.

Of course, Naruto creator working on a Dragon Ball volume cover is exciting for the entire community. And now, fans are looking forward to seeing mangaka of series like One Piece and Bleach becoming a part of this fascinating project.
