Miss America 2015 State Shoe Competition
From what I remember of watching Miss America when I was younger, there were a lot of gorgeous girls, big smiles, and the sort of formal dresses eight-year-old girls think are the epitome of grown-up chic. The pageant was on last night, and, guys, I've gotta report: Something weird was going on. I didn't catch the action last night (football rules in my household), but playing detective today, I think I've figured out that part of the girls' state-pride costumes involve going all out on a matching pair of shoes that are worn in a parade and then displayed at an exhibit.
This is Miss Tennesse in the parade, showing that she's a big fan of the color purple. It's a whole lot of everything, but I kind of love it. Also, when you look over images of all the shoes, you start to realize a trend along the lines of "go big or go home."
