This chapter centers on a struggle between Mash and the chapter’s antagonist, Innocent Zero. In this episode, Mash destroys Cyril’s wand and delivers it to Sarah, allowing her to deliver a devastating strike that knocks Zero to the ground. He’s a fascinating main character because of his interesting personality. He dies, travels to purgatory, and uses the time there to hone his fighting skills, proving his mettle.

It is unknown how long he spends training in the dead, but upon his return, he is noticeably stronger and better prepared for battle. The metamorphosis has given Innocent Zero the appearance of a cheese-winged angel. I couldn’t help but compare the struggle between Mash and Innocent Zero to the one between Eisen and Ichigo in Bleach.
