Who Was Martin Manley?
Martin Manley, a 60-year-old blogger and former Kansas City Star sportswriter died in August 2013.
In 2012, he left the publication and started his own sports blog. Manley was known for his love of statistics and invented an efficiency rating in basketball that is still used today.
According to Business Insider, he set up a website in 2013 where he spoke about his decision to take his life.

Manley’s death has reappeared on social media as a result of a popular video posted on the TikTok account Reddit Moments.
When a user asked the author of the page what they believed was the creepiest item on the internet. The author mentioned was Martin Manley. Manley’s blog domain was pre-paid for the next five years, but the original website was withdrawn a day after his death.
According to CNN, Manley prepared everything ahead of time, including arranging emails. In the emails he told his family, friends, and the local police station of his intentions.

Tale Traumatizes Tiktok Users
Many TikTok users traumatized by the resurfacing narrative, and many of them expressed their feelings in the video’s comments area.
“Yeah, I really love being traumatized at work even more than I already had to be,” one individual remarked.
“The worst thing is he didn’t live long to see Royals’ 2015 World Series or the Chiefs’ Super Bowl,” a third user said.
