Kyler Murray height joke backfires as social media comes to Arizona Cardinals QB's defense

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has played five seasons in the NFL.

In 65 games, he's thrown for 15,647 yards and 95 touchdowns, with 46 interceptions, completing 66.6% of his pass attempts.

He's rushed for 2,448 yards and 26 touchdowns on 425 attempts.

He's shaken off a lot of tackles on the field and a lot of criticism off of it.

But there's one thing that he hasn't been able to shake - the memes and jokes about his height.

The 5-foot-10 QB dynamo continues to be plagued with jokes about his short stature, but could the tide be turning on the overplayed, tired comments about Murray's height?

FanDuel recently posted a graphic listing the best quarterbacks in every NFL division, and Murray was listed as the best quarterback in the NFC West (whether or not that is truly the case is another story).

However, evidently, as an attempt at humor, the sportsbook's graphic of Murray only showed part of his head, making him appear a lot shorter than the other NFL quarterbacks listed.

All in good fun, right? Not according to many replies to the post, which slammed the sportsbook for taking a needless shot at Kyler Murray's height.

Social media slams post for 'pathetic' Kyler Murray height joke:

Many on social media were not happy with the post making fun of Murray's height, saying it really didn't need to do that.

Beyond the very tired height joke, this is correct.

Murray is the best quarterback in the division. His success depends on two main things:
1. Surrounding him with talent
2. His own health

When both of those come together, like the sample size we saw in 2021, he is…

80% of people making fun of his size are shorter than him lol. The average height in the US is like 5’8 for males. He’s 5’10. ???? Lmao

Kyler is a better athlete then 99% of the population, yet he continually has to endure these jokes about his height. Pathetic.

He’s probably taller than everyone that post this

— Jordanisthebest19 (@K1DaGoat11) May 2, 2024

He is 5' 10. Buff and plays football. All these bs posts about his size are ridiculous.

— K2 (@Krnconnection) May 2, 2024

I just don't see the humor in it.

Tua for AFC East and Kyler short jokes aren’t funny

Old joke. It’s just disrespectful. @k1 Kyler Murray is a good dude and very talented. Change it, show some respect.
