King called his son, 3 days before Denise Lee murder

A href="">Click here to read the original story.10 am updateThe prosecution is asking the jury to recommend the death penalty based on four circumstances: the murder was heinous and cruel, the murder was committed in a cold, calculated manner, the murder was committed with the purpose to eliminate a witness, the murder was committed while engaged in or escaping two felonies (kidnapping and sexual battery). Based on these four circumstances, the prosecution told the jury Michael King should "forfeit his life" for the kidnapping, rape and murder of Denise Amber Lee.Denise's father, Rick Goff, took the stand briefly reading a prepared statement about his daughter through the eyes of her teachers. Most of what Goff had intended to say was redacted and not read to the jury.Denise's husband, Nathan Lee, also spoke briefly about Denise and her devotion to her family and her two boys, Noah and Adam. Lee said, "The love that poured from her heart was so warming, I never wanted to be away."He recalled his wife writing out two pages of potty training instructions taken from the internet because their printer was not working. He described their boys as Denise's "first priority at all times, no matter what the circumstances". 10:30am updateSTRONG>NOON UPDATECross examination of Dr. Joseph Wucontinued. The prosecution has confirmed with Dr. Wu that even a person with the same abnormalities as seen in King's PET scan are "not out killing people". He also testified that he had not seen medical records to back up that King had been in the sledding accident.The jury recessed for lunch at 12:30. The jury will be back at 1:45pm.1:45pmUPDATEA conference call from Michigan with the family and ex-girlfriend of Michael King has begun. The jury is now hearing testimony from King's ex-girlfriend Tennille Camp.Camp says she met King in 2006 through his mother in Ellenton. They dated on and off for about a year anda half.She is being questioned about the breakup between King and another ex-girlfriend.She was unaware of King's childhood sledding accident, however she testified that King suffered from headaches in which he heard a buzzing noise in his head. Camp says King experienced more of those headaches after his breakup with the other woman, Jennifer Rob."He seemed like a normal person to me you know,there was only one point I'd seen himspaced out and had to snap my fingers to get his attention," said Camp, describing Kingprior to the murder of Denise Lee.When questioned about King'sparanoia, Camp told thejury he was a a paranoid and wanted to keep the blinds closed.She saw him the morning of January 17, 2008 He wasgoing , the day he abducted Lee from her home. He was goingtomeet with his bankruptcylawyer.She describedKing as being quiet and normal that day and agreed she could not see him doing what he's been convicted of doing.Camp says she spoke with King several times on the day of January 17th and says he sounded normal.Questioned about an interview with detectives following the murder, Camp says it was true she saw King with a gun, which he placed under his pillow.After several minutes of looking through her transcriptsof her interview with detectives, she did not find anywhere where she was asked about the headaches,and his spacing out.Shedidhowever sayshe is telling the truth regarding these behaviors.2:30pmUPDATEThe jury is now hearing testimony from Dr. Michael Visser, a psycologist who evaluated Michael King in June of this year.Dr. Visser testified it seemed as if King was trying to do his best during an IQ test. Dr. Visser says King scored a 71 on theverbal IQ, which falls in the borderline range of intellectual functioning.His performance IQ score was 85, which is considered low average.Put together, the full scale IQ is 76 which is in the borderline range.During cross examination, Visser said King never mentioned any major medical or mental problems during hislife and never told him about any psychologically traumatic events in his past. 3PM UDPATEThe jury has rested for the day and will return to the courtroom tomorrow.FONT size=1>/>
