In Chapter 143 of Juujika no Rokunin, Kaname consults with medical professionals and comes to terms with the fact that she must now wait. The physicians reassured her that she would be OK as long as she returned to her mother, and for a time, that was enough to stop her in her tracks. Her immediate reaction shocked the doctors.

Then we see Shun’s perspective, as he meets a friend who offers him a chance to kill one of his foes. This foe is none other than the woman who, in the past, made a mental sacrifice for Kaname. The vision of Kaname after she had gone too far has left an indelible mark on Shun’s mind.

His friend offered Shun his number and encouraged him to get in touch whenever it was convenient for him; this would benefit them both. Kaname had liked Shun in the past, and Shun’s friend was positive about it. But his conversations with Shun seemed hazy, as though he were plotting.

Now that we’ve met our principal characters in Chapter 144, we can officially begin the story. On the other hand, subsequent chapters may introduce new personalities.

One of these people could be Kaname’s mother, who was involved in some strange business with her own family. It’s possible that everyone in the family has suffered at the hands of the patriarch.

It’s possible that Dad indoctrinated the whole family (especially the kids) into thinking the way he did. This character has the freedom to act irrationally and for no other reason than to add drama to the series. This may also be the case here, but it’s also possible that something completely else will come out of the blue and knock us off our feet.
