We have all wondered about what would happen if DC and Marvel ever collaborated. Well, here’s a fun fact, although the Studios didn’t collaborate for a movie, James Gunn revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 crew filmed Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa’s Peacemaker cameo scene for DC.
According to his interview with Variety, James Gunn revealed how he was working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 when they shot Peacemaker. Thus, Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa’s cameo scene was apparently shot by Marvel’s crew. Giving out inside information, Gunn revealed that Marvel apparently owed this to DC.
James Gunn Recalled Discussing Peacemaker Cameo With Jason Momoa
James Gunn‘s highly appreciated TV show Peacemaker featuring John Cena took a mad turn when they introduced the four members of the Justice League in a particular episode. In that scene, the leading character was heard yelling at the Justice League members for being late. While Superman and Wonder Woman only appeared in silhouette, Aquaman and The Flash showed up in the flesh.
Fans lost their minds when they saw Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller popping up on the screen of John Cena’s Peacemaker. Speaking with Variety, James Gunn recalled how he managed to bring the two actors to sign for the cameo scene. Claiming that it wasn’t difficult at all to convince them, Gunn mentioned that Momoa was super excited about the scene.
“I think before we ever shot the show, we talked to Jason about it. We were like, “Listen, [Peacemaker] says you f*ck fish all the time.” And we were a little afraid he would be upset, but he just laughed. He was cool. So he was pretty much on board from the beginning.”
Further, Gunn recalled speaking with Ezra Miller to reprise their role as The Flash and appear in the hit TV show Peacemaker.
Marvel Crew Shot Ezra Miller And Jason Momoa’s Cameo Scene For DC
Discussing in detail how he shot the cameo scene featuring Ezra Miller, James Gunn mentioned that Marvel actually helped him in doing so. Since Peacemaker is a DC project, Gunn’s reply simply stunned fans, and even the interviewer. Thus, the DCU CEO explained why and how the Marvel crew helped him.
“Ezra I just found out through some common friends liked my movies a lot. And so I asked if he would come in and shoot this scene, and he kindly agreed to do that. Actually, Marvel shot [Ezra] for us, while we’re shooting Guardians Vol. 3.”
When the interviewer responded to his comments with “oh wow!”, James Gunn discussed how he was back then shooting for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Therefore, his Marvel crew apparently saved the day for him when they agreed to help him shoot the Peacemaker cameo.
“Yeah, but I mean, Marvel owed DC, because the “Peacemaker” crew shot my screen test for Chukwudi for “Guardians Vol. 3.” And then we got Ezra with the “Guardians Vol. 3” crew.”
Explaining how Marvel and DC collaborated often, James Gunn stunned his readers. This might not be the exact collaboration that fans think of, but it’s enough to baffle people.
