While Bullock acknowledged the criticism surrounding Miss Congeniality 2 during an interview with Metro, she also shared one aspect of the sequel that has made it bearable for the 59-year-old actress. The actress expressed fondness for the Shirley star.
“Two shouldn’t have been done,” she said during the interview, before adding, “But I’m glad that it did because of Regina, who I just freaking adore.” While she acknowledged that Miss Congeniality should have remained a one-off project, the actress has discussed the possibility of further extending the film series with a potential sequel.
Sandra Bullock Discussed the Potential Future of Miss Congeniality Film Series
While promoting the 2005 sequel to Miss Congeniality, Sandra Bullock advocated for women to have the same comedic opportunities as men without always resorting to romantic storylines. Emphasizing her desire for more diverse comedic roles, she argued, “Why can’t it be a buddy film?”
When asked about a potential third installment during her interview with Metro, she denied even the possibility of it, saying, “God no! No, no.” However, the Oscar-winning actress still suggested ideas for a prequel following Gracie Hart.

Bullock was last seen in the 2022 film The Lost City, followed by a brief cameo in Brad Pitt’s Bullet Train. Around the release of The Lost City, she expressed her desire to take a break from acting and shared that she’s uncertain about the duration of her acting hiatus.
The actress described it as lasting “until I don’t feel like I feel now when I’m in front of a camera.” Bullock also expressed her intention to prioritize her family during this period.
