“I thought it couldn’t get any worse after the Deshaun Watson situation” The Browns unveil their new field logo and fans are divided
The Cleveland Browns will have a midfield logo for the first time this season since 2016. The First Energy Stadium in Cleveland is graced with the presence of Brownie the elf.
The mascot was chosen by thorough voting from the fans and it was selected as one of the three options. The other two options were variations of Browns with helmets on.
The figure is called the running brownie and it is featured on the 50-yard line. “We’re super excited about the new midfield logo,” said JW Johnson, Brown’s executive vice president and partner. “We really wanted to engage our fans in the process.”
The logo will be available to see in the first home game for the Browns this season against the New York Jets. “We love the helmet logo, but Brownie has been around for a long time,” Johnson said. “I think people enjoy him, and we haven’t really showcased him as much as we’d like to.
Brownie the elf was the old franchise logo of the Browns in the 1940s, it was brought back by the fans voting for it. Though, Twitter was divided over the new logo.
