Hogwarts Legacy has several mechanics that help players create their own unique witch or wizard to save the Wizarding World. Whether you are transmoging your gear or you are customizing your Room of Requirement, you are able to truly be yourself.

These will allow you to do certain things or will increase specific Skills. You will certainly want to make sure that you look into Traits and which would be best for you. Here is a guide on how to find them.
What Are Traits?
Traits are aspects you can add to gear that will enhance them and make them better overall. Depending on the piece of gear, you can have different amounts of Traits. Some pieces come with no Traits while others come with two or more. Once you have a Trait, you can check what is needed to apply it to a piece of gear via the Enchanted Loom. In order to gain the materials required for applying Traits you will need to rescue Magical Beasts.
How To Unlock Traits
After unlocking the Room of Requirement, you will need to continue on with the main questline. Once you finish the quest "The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and The Loom," you will be able to craft the Enchanted Loom in the Room of Requirement. This will cost you 8 Moonstones. Once you craft it, you will be able to unlock Traits and apply them to the gear you want to apply them to.

Where Can You Find Traits?
Traits can be found in a couple of ways. One way is much easier than the other.
Chests With Traits
The easiest way is to find them from chests. Every time you come across a bandit camp or group of poachers, you should find a chest nearby. Many of these chests will contain the Traits that can then be added to your gear.
Challenges That Reward Traits
The harder way to obtain Traits is to complete different Challenges. These can be found in the Challenges section of your menu. The main Challenges that offer Traits as a reward are the Combat Challenges (though others do as well).
How To View Your Traits
If you are wondering which Traits you own, you can check the Traits section of the Collections menu. There, you will see all the Traits currently available to you. These are Traits you can apply to gear right now.
