Guide for Kill It With Fire

Paper Trail

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Start up Chapter 8 and we'll have our first objective, "Not Natural", for killing 5 Radioactive Spiders. This is our 10th variant of spider in the game, and they are a glowing lime green in color. They also have the ability to revive dead spiders and turn them into Zombie Spiders, our 11th variant. Zombie spiders are unique too as they can only be brought to life when walked over/near by a Radioactive Spider. You'll notice them as the obvious already dead spiders on the ground in some of the later rooms of the chapter. Next, head over to the corkboard behind the computer desk to get our second objective off the wall, "Erase Hard Drives", which requires us to burn 8 hard drives throughout the chapter. There is one underneath the computer desk, so go ahead and light it up with your Hairspray. With that said, there isn't much else to do in this beginning room, so get a killcount of 5 to open the door to the Cubicles, identified by the "5" Door.

Inside this large room will be several cubicles with their own computers and hard drives. There are 7 hard drives to be found here in fact, so light them all up to finish our second objective. Afterwards, grind a killcount of 10 to open the door to I.T., identified by the "10" Door (it may be easier to run around and spritz everything with your Hairspray to flush out the spiders quickly).

Once inside the I.T. room, we'll find our third objective on the server in the back, "Hack the Mainframe", which requires us to find the 8 USB Drives inside this room and insert them into their highlighted spots on the Server. As this is a very confined space that you can see entirely by turning 360 degrees, I'll use a number list to show the USB Drives' locations:

  1. In the open on the second shelf of the shelving unit, left of the server.
  2. On top of the Hard Drive, directly in front of the server.
  3. On a shelf above the Computer Desk, between a Joystick and a Picture Frame.
  4. On the second shelf of the cart, next to the door.
  5. On the chair in the middle of the room.
  6. In the trash can, in front of the shelving unit.
  7. Behind the Computer Monitor in the corner of the room.
  8. On the corner of the Computer Desk, behind the Phone.

With all 8 inserted, objective three is complete. From here, grind a killcount of 15 to open the door to the Annex, located in the Cubicles as the "15" Door.

Once inside, check one of the tables in the dining area to get our fourth objective, "Make a Wish", which requires us to blow out the candle on the birthday cake. To do this, open the cabinet under the Sink to get our first piece of equipment, the Fire Extinguisher, and use it to blow it out. Next, turn around and break into the vending machine to get our Flavor of the chapter, Royal Grape, which once eaten, transforms a spider into a Queen Spider. There is an Achievement tied to this flavor, so let's get that out of the way now. WARNING! You can only use Royal Grape about three times before it runs out, so make sure you only drop one piece at a time! As said, drop one piece of Royal Grape on the ground in the dining area and wait for/lure a spider over to it to transform them into a Queen. Once it becomes a Queen, kill it to get it's four Spiderlings to hatch. Next drop another piece of Royal Grape to get one of the Spiderlings to eat it and also become a Queen. This will unlock:

Next, turn back towards the Cubicles and head into the Men's Bathroom along the way. This bathroom is immediately accessible as the Women's requires a killcount. Once inside, grab our fifth objective from the wall of the stall, "Shattered Thrones", which requires us to destroy all 6 Toilets in the chapter. Destroy both the toilets in the Men's Bathroom, then grind a killcount of 20 to gain access to the Women's Bathroom next door, identified with the "20" Door.

Inside the Women's Bathroom, destroy all four of the toilets to complete our fifth objective. Head back out into the Annex and continue down the hall to find the Exit Door. Turn right and on the corkboard will be our sixth and final objective, "Dead Is Better", which requires us to kill 10 Zombie Spiders. At this point you should not have killed any Radioactive or Zombie Spiders, let alone encountered any. Directly to our left is the final door of the chapter which leads to the Conference Room, so grind a killcount of 25 and enter it.

WARNING! Do NOT kill any of the lime green Radioactive Spiders found in this room! They need to wander around first in order to revive the Zombie Spiders for our kills!

Walk up to or reveal the Radioactive Spiders to get them to leave their locations and roam the floors. This will cause any already dead spiders on the ground to be revived if a Radioactive Spider walks on or near them. Zombie spiders look just like any other variant of Spider, but will have spots of lime blood on their bodies. Once a Zombie Spider is revived, kill it off before it wanders out of your sight, but be careful not to kill the Radioactive Spiders in the crossfire. Continue exploring the room, revealing Radioactive Spiders, and killing Zombie Spiders until you've killed 10 Zombies and finished the sixth objective (Note: There is a door in the corner that will work as a shortcut back to the Cubicles. The Radioactive Spiders will crawl under this door and revive Zombie Spiders in the Cubicles, as well as hide in the Cubicles. We'll hunt them down once the Zombie are taken care of.).

With the Zombies killed off, begin hunting for the Radioactive Spiders in the Conference Room and Cubicles and kill them to finish our first objective. As the final Spider-Type in the game cannot be killed, killing a Radioactive Spider will count as the last one needed to unlock:

With the Radioactive Spiders dead, we can now mop up the remaining collectibles in this chapter, but we'll be temporarily skipping the Arachno-Gauntlet, as the Radioactive and Zombie Spiders we killed already will be useful to have around for it. So, we'll instead deal with it in another attempt of the chapter.

Moving on, return to the Conference Room to find an Orange Crate along the wall. This required 4 objectives to be complete in order to open it and get our second piece of equipment, the RPG. This wide range explosive weapon is perfect for wiping out hidden spiders in enclosed spaces, such as the Cubicles. Speaking of which, there is another Achievement we can get involving the RPG. Head back into the Cubicles to find the Printer in the main hall between two cubicles, and destroy it with the RPG to unlock:

It's now time to collect the Batteries and Upgrades, so let's start with the Batteries. As usual, here comes the number list:

  1. Inside the first room of the chapter, in the top left drawer of the Computer Desk.
  2. Inside the first room of the chapter, on the small end table in the opposite corner of the room as the Computer Desk.
  3. In the Cubicles, in the far back left corner cubicle with two computer desks, behind the Monitor by the Window.
  4. In the I.T. Room, on a shelf above the Computer Desk, between a Picture Frame and a Potted Plant.
  5. In the Men's Bathroom, in a Urinal.
  6. In the Annex, inside the Microwave.
  7. In the Conference Room, on the center table in front of the Red Chair.
  8. In the Cubicles, on the third shelf of the shelving unit right next to the door to the Conference Room.

After collecting the batteries, it's time for the Upgrades. Head back into the Conference Room and look under the center table and in front of the Red Chair, to find our first Upgrade, the Protein Shake. The Protein Shake allows us to throw items farther than usual. Next, head back to the Men's Bathroom to find our second Upgrade between the wall and the toilet stall, the Laser. Please note that this section of the Video Walkthrough was corrupted and cannot be seen, I apologize for this, but you can go to 8:32 to see me look at it earlier on in the chapter. The Laser is a concentrated beam that burns anything it touches, but it quickly drains your Tracker's Battery.

With everything but the Arachno-Gauntlet taken care of, grind a killcount of 30 and head through the Exit Door between the Annex and the Conference Room to finish the Chapter. As said, we aren't done yet, so reload the chapter and bypass all the rooms to get back into the Conference Room for the Arachno-Gauntlet. Our challenge this time is a fairly tough one, we must kill 10 spiders within 1 Minute, but we must kill each of the 10 in a unique way. This means we cannot kill using the same method as the last spider. Start by drinking an Energy Drink to slow down time and continue drinking each time it wears off. I'll list the different means you can use to kill spiders in the order I did with the Video Walkthrough.

  1. Shot with the Assault Rifle
  2. Hit with the Frying Pan
  3. Shot with the Shotgun
  4. Shot with the Silenced Pistol
  5. Shot with the Revolver
  6. Beat multiple times with the Clipboard
  7. Stabbed with a Shuriken
  8. Blown up with C4
  9. Blown up with the RPG
  10. Shredded with the Trimmer

Once the Arachno-Gauntlet is complete, double check the final check section below, then go to town with your RPG, Hairspray, Molotovs, etc. and grind a killcount of 30 to finish the chapter once again.
