Guide for HITMAN 2 - HITMAN Legacy: Sapienza

WORLD OF TOMORROW

Welcome to Italy. In the Sapienza mission, World Of Tomorrow, you have to kill two targets, Silvio Caruso and Fransesca De Santis. On top of that, you also need to find the secret lab and kill the DNA virus.

It is possible to do most of the opportunities in one playthrough, but you will need to replay the mission to complete various challenges to reach level 20 anyway, so I have broken them down into a few playthroughs to try and maximise progress for challenges. For a couple of playthroughs, we will simply restart after getting the achievement we are going through.

Playthrough 1 - First Day on the Job, A Case Most Peculiar and Hostile Environment

When setting up the mission for the first playthrough, bring a lockpick and lethal poison vial (you'll have unlocked this after finishing Paris).

When you start the mission, you will be sat on a bench in the Town Hall Square opposite the mansion. Go to Mission Stories and follow First Day on the Job, then get up and walk towards the white van to the right of the mansion, next to the red building. As you approach, you will see the marked woman shouting to Rocco who is on the top floor telling him that he is going to be late. Wait near her and listen to the conversation, then follow the Story when prompted. Now enter the door to the right of the shop (next to the moped) and go to the top floor. On the right is Rocco's door. Pick the lock and sneak in. Straight ahead of you on a small table is the mansion keycard. Make sure you pick it up, then take the Kitchen Assistant uniform in the next room before sneaking back out to the van.

Behind the van is a swipe access door to the grounds of the mansion. Be aware that the woman who was shouting at Rocco will see through your disguise. If she's still around, follow her (and wait as she ties her shoe) through the door straight ahead, and then immediately turn left inside. Head into the main kitchen and talk to the head chef, who will ask you to finish the tomato sauce. Grab the rat poison on the shelf near the box, then give the pot a stir and make a save; let's get some challenges knocked out right away.

Add your lethal poison to the pot first, then go outside and ring the bell. This will complete the Story. Now wait here and you'll see Silvio come out and sit down for his meal. After a while, the food will be brought out to him and eventually, he'll predictably perish. Now reload the save and add the rat poison instead, then ring the bell again. This time, run straight down the steps to where Silvio was sat (the Private Dinner Patio). Along the right side of the building here, you'll see a cliff path; hide on it so the Enforcer won't see you when Silvio arrives. When he eats the food, he will walk past you to the cliff edge to be sick; kick him off when he does (be careful as one of his guards might walk past randomly).

Now wait and the Enforcer should walk off. Carefully follow him back into the Kitchen and enter the storeroom on the left at the far end. You can climb out of the window to a ledge, head left and across the roof and unlock the door to head back into Rocco's building. The apartment you enter here is actually the ICA safe house, but we'll come back to that later. You can also climb the small balcony into Rocco's apartment if you want. Either way, head through the building and out the main door downstairs.

Next, go to Mission Stories and follow A Case Most Peculiar. Head down the hill to your left and follow it down to a blue Hairdresser shop on the right side of the road where you can see the marker. Enter this and listen to the conversation before following the Story. Now run back out and go down the alleyway by the shop. Follow it up and all the way around until you get to the next marker where you'll see the Detective asleep on a bench. Around the corner to his left is a radio. Turn this on to wake him up; he won't check out the radio, so just wait around the corner to eavesdrop on his conversation.

After the phone call, he will walk down the hill we came up. Follow him as he walks round the alleys. When he eventually stops by a wishing well, turn around from there and go through the arch to the toilets, then enter the one on the left and hide in the container. He'll soon come in here, so when he does, get out, subdue him and grab his disguise before dumping him back in the container. Head back out and follow the marker right the way over to Francesca on the Pier, heading along the east side of the Beach to get there.

Once you get to her, the Story will be complete. Talk to her and she'll lead you into the tunnel nearby. Her guards will wait outside. Wait until you are far enough inside, when you pass near the dumpster, then shoot her in the head with your pistol so you get the Straight Shot challenge and hide her in the dumpster. Make sure you pick up her biolab keycard as well.

Now it's just a case of getting into the secret lab to destroy the virus. Go to Mission Stories and follow Hostile Environment at this point.

Run back out of the tunnel and to the toilet (north of the Hairdresser on your map; you'll see a square for the dropped disguise there) to grab your Kitchen Assistant outfit, then follow the hill to the east back up and go into the Kitchen through the door behind the van. Run back out the door by the bell and pick the locked door to the left of where Silvio sat down, where you can see a camera. Sneak through the doorway to the right, then immediately right down the stairs. Use your new keycard to enter this door and follow the tunnel straight ahead. I'd save here.

Slightly to your left, you should see a yellow staircase. Sneak down the stairs and be careful that you are not seen enough to set off an alert. At the far end of this platform is a generator. Turn this off and then hide behind the box thing by it. A guard will come up to investigate. Wait until he turns the generator back on, then take him out when he walks back off and dump him in the box nearby. You can then take his uniform; leave his gun as we will be changing disguises shortly. Run over to the other side of this roof to grab the hammer on a box as well.

The marker for the Mission Story is very close, but you have to be careful of the Enforcer standing near it. Head down the stairs and make a U-turn to the right. You'll see a small set of yellow stairs that lead into the room you were just on top of; run over to these first, then turn left from there and quickly run to the stairs by the marker where the Scientists are talking so you're far enough out of sight of the Enforcer. Crouch and sneak up past them, then grab the biolab security protocol to start the Story.

Now run back over to the stairs we just came from, then move over so you're standing behind the crates just to the left of the Enforcer. He's guarding a path we need to get down, so wait until there's nobody else too close by, then throw the hammer in front of him by the boxes so he moves past you to investigate and you can quickly slip behind him. Move along the path through the water, then take a left. You'll come around to the other side of the building with a staircase leading up to a door. Save again in case things go wrong here. Use Instinct to check that the room through the door is clear and that nobody around you is going in there as you'll be trespassing, then quickly use the keycard reader, sneak straight forward and change into a Hazmat Suit. Follow the tunnel through the doors to the left and you will enter the Biolab where the virus is and complete the Story.

Now you can destroy the virus from in here, but there's a significantly easier and safer way of doing it from a distance. Run back out through the tunnel, then through the door on the right to get outside. Take another right and run forward past some crates, following the edge of the cave until you get to some blue barrels behind a big rock (on the northwest side of the Biolab we were just in). Crouch and look up above the Biolab from here using Instinct to find a stalactite hanging from the ceiling; the nearby guards can't see you in this position, so shoot it with your pistol and it will fall to destroy the virus.

The alarm will be set off, so quickly run to the left past the guards, following the back of the Biolab. After you run past some more guards on the left side of the building, stick to the left side of the cave from there and follow it until you can climb up onto a platform. Drop off the other end of it and head straight forward where you'll find a thin ledge to shimmy across, over the water. On the other side, you're right by a plane. Casually walk up to it, get inside and you will complete the mission earning this achievement:

Run 2 - Let No Joyful Voice Be Heard Achievement

Start the game again, this time choosing the ICA Safehouse as both your starting location, andthe location to smuggle in a silenced sniper rifle (the Sieger 300 Ghost if you have it; otherwise, you should have the Sieger 300 Tactical). Also, make sure you equip the lockpick and fiber wire.

When you start the game, you will earn this achievement:

First, we are going to knock out this level's 'easter egg' achievement for awakening the Kraken. To do this, you need to get the sniper rifle to the balcony of the observatory. So grab it from the briefcase in your apartment and holster it, then head out the two southern doors to get onto the roof. Head to your left and drop down through the broken wall into the mansion grounds, then enter the door to your right and sneak up into the Kitchen. If you were fast, the Chef should be in the corner chopping up some food; wait by the radio for him to walk off to the right, then quickly move to where he was, jump through the open window in the corner and immediately sneak to the right.

Use your pistol to shoot the camera on the wall ahead, then hop through the window underneath it. Go through the next door, then right through another door and straight ahead to the stairwell, taking it to the top. The door on the right takes you out onto the balcony; follow it around until you are on the south side of the Observatory and can see the Pier below.

Save here as this next part can be very frustrating.

You need to shoot the four bells on the ship out to sea IN THE CORRECT ORDER.

The following picture shows the locations and order for the bells.

For those with a small screen, the order is the left one, the right one, top then bottom.

Credit toKing fiShiZfor the picture which is from their solution.

If you are struggling and run out of ammo, just reload the save. Once you hit all four in order, the Kraken will come and you will earn this achievement:

Run 3 - Absolution, By Candelight and Memory Lane

Once you have that achievement, Replan Mission and smuggle in a lethal poison vial to the ICA Safehouse instead. Keep everything else the same (starting in the ICA safehouse again with a lockpick and fiber wire).

We're going to start this run off with the Absolution Mission Story, so go and follow that as usual. There's a chance that it might already be showing as complete for you though, which it was for me; the Mission Story ends with you entering the underground caves in a specific way, but I think it could glitch and complete the Story just for entering the cave, even if you don't follow the Story at all. We should still complete it properly though to finish more challenges and make sure the achievement does not glitch on us.

Anyways, this time, grab your lethal poison vial from the briefcase, then make your way out of the apartment through the other (main) door, going downstairs and outside. Follow the road down the hill and make your way into the Church to your right. Go towards the back and you will see the confession booths to the left. Go near them and listen in on the conversation before following the Story. Now leave the Church through the main door and turn left. Go into the small building (the Morgue) next door. Shut the front doors on your way in and then subdue the Church Staff when he's in here (you might have to wait if he's outside having a smoke). Take the church key he drops and drag his body to one side so that he is hidden behind a coffin.

After that, unlock the doors to the next room which is where a dead scientist is laying. He will be visited soon by the female scientist from the Church. Sneak forward through the next doors into a room with a coffin and hide in it. After some time, she will enter the room with the dead guy, followed by a member of security, and as they pass you in the coffin, you should get a challenge (The Living Dead). Wait until she tells him to leave and he starts walking away. Her attention will now be on the dead guy. Wait until the Priest is gone too, then creep into the room and subdue her. You can stuff her in the freezer box to the right. Take her keycard and the biolab laptop dongle she drops, as well as the Lab Technician's uniform from the dead guy (nice!).

Before leaving, it is worth dumping the Church Staff in the same box as well to save him getting spotted.

Next, head back outside, across the beach towards the arches, and follow them to the end towards the Pier where we killed Francesca as the Detective in a previous playthough. As you leave through the last arch, you should see a gap in the fence ahead of you that passes along some rocks. Follow this path towards the marker. At the other end is a door that you can use your newly acquired key card on. Enter the door to complete the Story.

Go straight ahead and walk straight past the scientist there. He is facing the other way so should not spot you, just don't bump into him. Turn left when you enter the main cave and go to the left of the little building ahead, passing the stairs going up to the top of it. On a box at the other side of the building by the door, you'll find some rat poison you want to pick up. Follow the left wall along from here until you can turn left up a set of stairs where you will find a guard walking around. Make a U-turn to the left at the top and follow the path straight ahead, then go left when you can up another set of stairs. Here would be a good place to save.

There is a door at the top that brings you back into the mansion. Stop here to go to Mission Stories and follow By Candelight, then go upstairs one floor and take a left through the doorway. Go straight ahead through the next door, then pick up the romantic note on the table to your right to start the Story. Now go back through the door, and check with Instinct that it's clear before taking the next door to the left into the Observatory. You want to leave by the door on the right that leads back to the cliff edge (you're allowed out here in your disguise). If the Chef isn't here already having a smoke, wait for him to come past, then subdue him, put him in the box and take his uniform.

Make your way north along the path from here (you should recognize this from earlier) and run up into the Kitchen, grabbing the rat poison by the box at the back (you will now have two), then run back onto the cliff path and follow it around until you get to the swimming pool. Be aware that one of Silvio's guards can see through your disguise, so try to avoid him seeing you. There is a red table and sun lounger next to the pool with an umbrella (not the two sun loungers together). On the table is a bottle of water which the golf coach (Roberto Vargas) drinks from. Make sure he doesn't see you, then put rat poison in the water.

Now follow him when he walks off to the cliff edge. He will make a phone call to Francesca; listen to this to update the Story. He'll then go and drink the water before walking off to be sick. Walk with him and make sure nobody will see you entering the building with him, then follow him into the bathroom. Once he is throwing up in the toilet, subdue him and stick him in the wardrobe behind you, then take his clothes and pick up his cell phone.

Go into the next room where you will be having a romantic liaison with Francesca as the golf coach (not really - this is Agent 47, not James Bond). Call Francesca and then sit in the chair. This will complete the Story.

Now before she comes in, get up. You'll see Francesca's glass of champagne on a table. As you might expect, save here so we can use both types of poison. Add the lethal poison first and sit back in the chair. When Francesca comes in, she will start talking to you and take a sip of the champagne before eventually dying. Once she's down, reload and add the rat poison instead. This time, she will go and throw up in the same toilet as Roberto. Briefly wait and then follow her in. Save again here. Drown her in the toilet and reload, then kill her with the fiber wire (this is important for another challenge later) and stuff her in the wardrobe with Roberto. You should get a few challenges ticked off for this kill, including one for sticking them both in the same cupboard. Now we just have Silvio to deal with.

Go to Mission Stories and follow Memory Lane. Head out of the bathroom, through the door to the right and up the stairs again. Head left at the top towards the double doors, and carefully open them, moving forward enough so you can listen in on the conversation whilst being hidden behind the door, then follow the Story afterwards. Turn around from there and you'll see the opening to a balcony area above the Observatory. Sneak to the opposite side (Silvio and his guards might be below) and up the stairs by the telescope. At the top, you will find a VHS tape. Grab it and sneak back down the stairs, then enter the Observatory when it's empty (careful of a guard who occasionally patrols near the door).

Near the large TV screen which is currently switched off, you will find a projector where you can insert the tape. Then behind you, you should find a Plague Doctor outfit on display. Take the amputation knife to the left of the outfit before hiding in the outfit itself. This will complete the Story. After a while, Silvio will enter the room and notice the tape. He will order all his bodyguards to leave the room and watch the tape with his back to you. Save again at this point. Sneak up behind him and kill him with the fiber wire first; this should get you The Personal Touch as we also killed Francesca with the fiber wire earlier. Reload and kill him with the amputation knife instead for another challenge. We're done again, so go ahead and Replan Mission.

Run 4 - Catharsis and Memento

For the next playthrough, start in the Main Square with a lockpick and silenced pistol.

Skip the intro, then get up from the bench and go to Mission Stories to follow Catharsis. Turn around to your left and go up the stairs, then turn around to your left again to see a man stood by the railing, just above where we started. Go up to him and listen in on Dr. Lafayette's phone call, then follow the Story afterwards. Now turn around from there to find a café. Run over to it and go down the stairs to the right of it and you should see a dumpster immediately to your left. Stay here for a bit and the marked Waiter will come down the stairs to have a smoke here.

Save when he starts coming down. Quickly knock him out as soon as he stops by the dumpster and hide him in there, then take his clothes immediately. You have to be fast to do this as a woman will come down the stairs shortly after and she can bust you. You may want to wait until she's passed before changing clothes if this does happen.

Now crouch and pick the lock of the door to your right (or if the Kitchen Assistant comes out of there, just walk through the open door). Off to your right, you should see two freezers and to the left of those is a door leading to a stairwell. Take those stairs up one floor and enter the rear of the café. The Chef should be looking out of the window, so go to the left and use the pillar to hide yourself from him. He will turn round soon and go and stand nearer the main café with his back to you. When he does, you should be able to take cover on the wall and grab the rat poison there; if not, go around to the window to grab it.

Go back out the way you came as there's another Enforcer that will prevent us from leaving via the front, but just be careful that you don't go back outside when the Chef is looking out the window as it's right above that door. Head back up the stairs to the front of the café and find the small table with the marked glass of coffee on it near the corner of the building; Dr. Lafayette is likely sitting there. If he is, wait until he moves before poisoning it. He will soon come back to drink your poison, so be prepared to follow him to the toilets. Follow him inside (if there's another guy in there, wait until he leaves) and shut the door so the two guys in the main bathroom don't see you. Subdue the doctor, stuff him in the box and take his clothes.

We're going to take a slightly less direct approach into the villa now so we can avoid being frisked to smuggle our pistol in and complete another challenge. Head back outside and approach the building to the right of the villa where Rocco and his girlfriend will be talking again. Enter and go up to the top, then pick the lock into Rocco's apartment and head right, out the door at the back and drop off the balcony to the right. Turn left on this roof and drop through the broken wall into the villa proper. From here, run up the steps to the main door of the house and talk to the Butler. Follow him and when you get to Silvio's room, you'll have completed the Story.

Sit in the chair to wait. It won't be long before he enters and lies on the couch. Save here. Simply get up and shoot him in the head with your pistol for one challenge (make sure to stand where he can't see you or he'll still get alerted), then reload and when prompted, smother him with the pillow for another. I was not able to move Silvio's body off the couch, but nobody else should come in the room to find it.

Now go to Mission Stories and follow Memento. Go through the door on the right into a little storage room. In the back-right corner of the room, there'll be a hatch in the ceiling and if you get under this and face the boxes, you should get a prompt to press cn_A and hang from the hatch, then climb up into the Attic. Sneak to the right in here, grabbing a propane flask off the table to the left as you move over to the far end where the two marked guards are staring at a safe. Listen to their conversation from behind the boxes and follow the Story afterwards. Wait until they start to leave, then move around the right side of the boxes to keep out of their line of sight. Throw the propane flask by the safe. One of them should move to check it out while the other walks off; carefully get up behind the first guard and knock him out, then dump him in the nearby box and take his Mansion Security clothes.

Now head out the door by the box and head to the left end of this roof to find a drainpipe. Slide down this, then hop through the open window to the left and grab the marked safe combination. Go back out the window and up the plank onto the roof, then climb back up the drainpipe, return to the safe and open it. Take the DNA sample from inside.

On the east side of the attic is a door that the other guard left through; head through this and down the stairs. There will be a few guards who will see through your disguise here, so save beforehand. Wait until the Enforcer leans in the window by the bottom of the stairs and turns his back again, then jump through, subdue him and pick up the screwdriver to the left of the door. Go back out the window and when all the guards have gone and the guard at the far end is looking over the railing, go out to the middle of the courtyard where there is a wire plug you can use the screwdriver on.

Head back up the stairs and through the Attic, then climb back down to the room where you picked up the safe combination. Francesca should be in the next room; if not, wait for her to arrive and then enter. Talk to her to give her the DNA sample. Once she is done speaking, the Story will complete. Head back out the window and climb up to the Attic once again, and go out the other door down the stairs to where we sabotaged the wire plug. Hide near the bottom of the stairs (close to the box in the alcove, or in through the window) until Francesca and her guards turn up. Use the faucet on the nearby wall that the hose is connected to and Francesca will be electrocuted.

There's little point to finishing up the mission from here, so just Replan Mission again.

Run 5 - Beyond the Grave

The last two Mission Stories are related to Silvio, so we can do some quick runs where we just focus on him. When setting up the next playthrough, choose the starting location at the Mansion Garden as a Gardener.

When you start, you will be on the Garden. Quickly leave and run down the steps by you, then head towards the right of the small building nearby (careful of the other Gardener) where there is a Guard stood leaning over the wall at the cliff edge. Subdue him, take his clothes (first for a change) and then dump him over the side. Now go to Mission Stories and follow Beyond the Grave. Cut through the building to get back outside and head through the door to your right, then follow the marker into the main room of the mansion and up the right set of stairs (careful of another Enforcer at the top). At the top, turn right and then right again immediately. Go through the door and go straight ahead. Silvio's mother's room is on the left at the end. Grab the medical journal in here and follow the Story.

Now head back downstairs and into the large room where the marked gramophone is. Turn it on and move away to where the butler is at the front of the building. Just go as far as the stairs. When Silvio gets to the gramophone, turn on the stairlift (make sure there's nobody looking down at you from the balcony behind you) and go upstairs, then make your way back to Silvio's mother's bedroom. When Silvio gets to the top of the stairs and the Story updates again, ring the bell above the bed and turn on the fan by the chair as well, then hide in the container.

Silvio will come up and stand outside the room for quite a while before entering, but as soon as he enters, you will complete the Story. Because you turned on the fan, he'll think the chair is possessed by his mother and pass out for another challenge. Feel free to shoot him in the head or snap his neck for the hell of it, then Replan Mission.

Run 6 - The Good Son

This next playthrough contains the last Mission Story. Start in the Main Square and unequip your pistol.

Go to Mission Stories and follow The Good Son. Head towards the big archway to the left of the mansion, past the little white car you can escape in. You will see a van that has crashed, a flower delivery guy on the phone, and over to the left, another flower delivery guy seeing to a cyclist that has come off his bike. Wait by the guy on the phone to listen in on his conversation and follow the Story after. Now knock out the guy on the phone and take his clothes, then dump his body over the edge so he doesn't get found. Go to the other side of the van where the door is open and take the flowers before heading to the main gate to the mansion. Get frisked, head to the main door and speak to the Butler. He will tell you to follow him to Silvio's mother's grave in the garden.

When you get there, head down the steps and place the flowers on the grave. This will complete the Story and you should unlock:

Now turn around and hide in the box behind you. After a while, Silvio will show up and tell his bodyguards to leave. When he is at the grave, hop out of the box, use your fiber wire and drag him to the yellow shredder. Dump him inside and then use the option to shred him for some more challenges. You can then Replan Mission again.

Run 7 - The Sapienza Trinity Achievement (Pt. 1)

So, now we have to kill Silvio two more ways for The Sapienza Trinity achievement, as we have already killed him in therapy. These are shooting him through the telescope and shooting down his plane with a cannon. We'll start with the telescope.

Choose the Harbor as your starting location and bring a lockpick and a briefcase with a silenced sniper rifle smuggled into it. Make sure you're wearing the standard Italian Suit too.

When you start, look to your left and you should see a small door on the other side of the water, under the Church. Head round to it and pick the lock. Go inside to enter the Church Basement and head left through a door, then turn right and pick the lock of another door. In here is a Priest uniform; change into this for an easy challenge, then change back to the Suit. Head back out, and to the right to find some stairs within the Church.

Go half way up the stairs (just round the first corner but not the second) and wait. Use your Instinct to check for a guy coming down the stairs above you. He will stop to look at his watch briefly and then leave as another guy comes in and stands in the centre. He doesn't hang around long, so just wait until he leaves as well. Then go up the stairs, hang a right and follow the wooden stairs up to the top of the tower, then make your way round so you can see the Observatory.

Retrieve your rifle from your briefcase now. On the left side of the Observatory, you should see an electrical box which from here looks like a brown rectangular window. Shoot it and the cover will come off and the Observatory will open.

This is a good place to save in case you mess up, you miss your chance or the game glitches.

Using your Instinct to check every now and then, wait until Silvio goes into the Observatory and looks through the telescope. His guard will probably come outside to look around on the balcony. Once Silvio stops moving, this is when you want to take the shot. There should be a circle showing the large end of the telescope where you have to shoot. Sometimes the game will glitch and the circle is missing, so you have to try to guess where to shoot. It is towards the bottom edge, about two thirds the way along from left to right (i.e. more to the right). Shooting through the telescope correctly, you should see a mini cut scene of Silvio getting hit from inside the Observatory. This will get you An Eye for an Eye and should also get you I Aim to Please (in the Master Sniper category).

If you do not get I Aim To Please (this could happen as this telescope kill does not seem to always count as sniping him), you can reload the previous save and look at the building to the left of the Observatory. You'll see a wall with four glass windows; Silvio will soon walk towards the bottom-right window on his way to the telescope and he can be shot through there which will definitely count as a sniper kill. Once you're done, Replan Mission again.

Run 8 - The Sapienza Trinity Achievement (Pt. 2)

This time when planning your mission, choose the Starting Location as the Field Lab and make sure to bring a silenced pistol.

If you immediately skip the intro, the Enforcer in this room should be facing away from you and you can stop blending in and go through the door behind you. Head immediately right and run through the tunnel; the Enforcer by the building shouldn't blow your cover. Head up the stairs to the south, up to the top of the cave and turn left. There's a guard here; kill him silently however you want and leave his body out in the open. Silvio will come down here when he enters lockdown, and we want him to see the body so he'll then evacuate via the plane for our last kill method.

Now head to the edge of the cliff nearby, overlooking the lab, to find a drainpipe. Slide down this, then run to the right along the edge of the cave so you're going past the plane. You'll follow a path that takes you outside. Keep running along it, up a hill until you find a path going up to a big metal gate; take the lower path to the left of this instead.

This eventually leads you to a speedboat; turn right when you reach it to find a small ledge you can climb up. Climb up this and the next ledge, and wait until it is safe to climb up the last ledge where you will find yourself facing a wall. To the right is the gate we saw earlier. Head up the stairs on your left instead. At the top to the left, you will see a cannon and next to it is a barrel with gunpowder and a cannonball sat on top of it. Take them both and load the gunpowder, then the cannonball into the front of the cannon.

Keep following the Ruins around and you should find another cannon which is aimed towards the dock where Francesca met you as the Detective. Ignore this cannon and keep moving round (you can use it another time to get her to meet you there and when she shows up... boom!). On moving further round, you will find another cannon that is aimed at the garden/golf green (again, you can use this for another challenge, another time). Wait around here until Silvio is on the garden ahead of you and then save.

Carefully aim with your pistol to shoot Silvio in the leg, or anywhere that won't kill him, then hide out of sight in the grass nearby. This will send him into lockdown and he'll run down into the caves (or sometimes he'll just walk for some reason). Meanwhile, make your way to the cannon that you loaded earlier and crouch in the grass by it as his guards will probably run up here. You should eventually get notified that Silvio has found the body, and after a short time, he should run for the plane and you'll be informed that he's escaping. There will be a timer showing when he will escape.

Unfortunately, you can't save anymore at this point, so interact with the cannon beforehand so that you're ready to fire and be careful not to miss your chance. At 9 seconds left, the plane will be flying past the tower in the distance. Fire the cannon then and blow it out of the sky. For hitting the plane and killing him the last of the three ways, you will get this achievement:

If you have followed this walkthrough exactly and gotten all the challenges on the way, you should now be at Mastery Level 20. Reload any of your saves now and it should pop:

If you're not there yet, what you can actually do is complete the Escalation next for a bit of extra XP, then wait until you do the Bonus Mission DLCs as the Landslide and The Icon missions are set in Sapienza and have more challenges that will count towards your overall Sapienza Mastery Level. By the time you've finished those, you will definitely be at Mastery Level 20.

Escalation - The Szilassi Darkness

For the last achievement, you will need to complete level five of an Escalation set in Sapienza. Again, there are less of these than in the original game, but there's still one that is very simple to do, and it might even be the easiest Escalation in the whole game. Select the Szilassi Darkness, then smuggle in a silenced sniper rifle to the ICA Safe House and start there as well.

For Level 1, retrieve your sniper, then go through the two doors out onto the roof. You'll be able to see Alberto on the top of the tower to your left; shoot him in the head, then drop your rifle, slide down the drainpipe directly across from the door and run over to the speedboats to exit.

Level 2 adds a second target. Snipe Alberto again, then look down at the speedboats to find Sebastiano stood at the end of the pier. Shoot him in the head too, drop the rifle, slide down and escape. No joke when I say this, literally do exactly the same for the last three levels. The new complications will not cause any issues; just make sure you kill them with headshots specifically for level 4 and 5. It really is that easy.

On finishing level 5, you will earn this achievement:
