Guide for Hasbro Family Game Night 3

The Yahtzee achievements all require an understanding of the game, and a bit of luck. Whilst the 'Remix' game can be completed locally using four players, the 'Original' game cannot. If you wish to boost Original Yahtzee, you must play online with three other boosting partners. To win at Yahtzee, you must aim to collect the most points, but choosing 'Hands Down' once you have matched the available combinations.

Original

Select 'Original' game. When you have a 'Hands Down!' combination, you must press A+B to shout 'Hands Down!'. In Original Yahtzee, the first two players to shout 'Hands Down!' face eachother. The player with the best combination wins the matching 'Combo Card', which is worth the amount of points shown. The losing player gets a 'Chance Card'. The points earned from Chance Cards are shown at the end of the game, once all Combo Cards have been collected. Sometimes, the Chance Cards are worth more points than the Combo Cards, so it is always worth choosing 'Hands Down!' when possible, unless you are aiming for the highest scoring Combo Cards.

You should aim to win the 10 games in 'Quick Play'. Whilst there are only three Combo Cards available here, it is much quicker, and you are likely to pick up the Original-specific achievements along the way. All non-game specific achievements can be won in Remix Yahtzee.

Aim to collect any two of the three Combo Cards in play to give yourself the best chance of winning. A good tip is to aim for the higher combos, but 'Hands Down!' the lower combos if an opponent goes 'Hands Down!'.

If you manage to win at least two of the three Combo Cards, you will unlock the "Combo Knight" achievement.

When you 'Hands Down!', you compete with another opponent that has gone 'Hands Down!'. If both players are going for the same Combo Card, the player with the best combo wins. For example, a three-of-a-kind using '6' will win against a three-of-a-kind using '5'.

If you win a Combo Card by playing a higher combo than your opponent, you will unlock the "Raising The Bar" achievement.

For winning your first game of Original Yahtzee, you will unlock the "Yahtzee!" achievement.

Now win 9 more games of Original Yahtzee for the "Card Shark" achievement.

Remix

The remainder of the Yahtzee achievements can be done locally using 4 controllers. Back out to the main menu to sign them in. Once ready, select 'Remix' game. In Remix Yahtzee, there is just one Combo Card available at any one time. The first player to 'Hands Down!' gets the points. If the Combo Card has not been collected after a time limit, the Combo Card is replaced. As you will want to collect 6 Combo Cards in one game, you should play the Full Game, which gives you 8 minutes instead of 4 minutes.

With your main account, you should be aiming for the Combo Card. With your other accounts, you should discard any card as quick as possible to give your main account the best chance of winning 6 Combo Cards in 8 minutes. If possible, try to set one of your other accounts up with a three-of-a-kind combo.

If you 'Hands Down!' a combo, whilst another player has a valid combo, you will unlock the "Too Fast For You" achievement.

If you manage to 'Hands Down!' six combos in one game, you will unlock "Combo Lord" and "Combo King".

Once the 8 minutes are up, you will also have unlocked the "Think Fast" achievement for winning a game of Remix Yahtzee.
