Gannett plans to sell Chronicle-Tribune

Marion - The Marion Chronicle-Tribune newspaper is
for sale.

Gannett Company has donated the newspaper to its charitable arm,
which plans to sell the paper in about 30 days.

The newspaper's 75 employees were told about the plans
yesterday. Newspaper officials say they have several prospective
buyers.

The Chronicle-Tribune is published seven days a week and has a
circulation of about 18,000. It's won several journalism
awards.

Gannett also owns daily newspapers in Indianapolis, Lafayette,
Muncie and Richmond.
