Fuller House Season 2 Details: Everything We Know So Far
It's All in the Family: Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber's daughters will appear in the new season as classmates of D.J.'s middle child, Max (played by Elias Harger). "The whole thing is very surreal, it really is," says Franklin. For Barber, it brought out the stage mom hidden within: "I was a total stage mom!" she laughs. "I was like, 'Look alive! Even if you don't think you're on camera, you're on camera! I know you're tired, but you gotta look like you're awake!' I took pictures to show her and was like, 'This one you look tired; this one you look awake.' I totally turned into a stage mom! Who am I?! But I was very proud of her." How did the casting come about? "Well, there was no nepotism," jokes Barber. "Jodie Sweetin said, 'My daughter, Zoie, is dying to be on the show, so let us know,' and [Jeff Franklin] said, 'We actually have a classroom scene coming up.' So I said, 'Well, my daughter, Felicity, would love to do it too!' He said, 'Great, I'll put them in a two-shot and get a close-up. Zoie and Felicity are really good friends and hang out on set all the time. We were helping them fill out their work permits and W-2 forms and were like, 'We never did this! Our moms did it for us!' It was a great full circle moment." Could this be the beginning of a budding acting career for Barber's daughter? "She's not quite there, but she liked the introductory stuff without any lines. It was a really fun day for a little kid, but I don't think she'll be a child actor!" Look for their cameo around the eighth episode in season two.
The "Legacy" Cast: Although Fuller House is supposed to focus on DJ's (Candace Cameron Bure) life as a single mom of three, season one's strongest episodes were those that featured Stamos, Saget, Coulier, and Loughlin in main story lines. Aside from Stamos, most of the legacy cast only appeared in three out of the first 13 episodes. For season two, that number is scheduled to stay the same, though one cast member (who shall remain unnamed) told us they would love to do more. (Producers, are you listening?) Meanwhile, Stamos told E! Online that he's "acting in three episodes, producing them all, and now that I have more time on my hands (Grandfathered was canceled by FOX), I'm also doing craft service."
D.J.'s Love Life: (Spoiler alert!) While D.J. jumped back into the dating pool towards the middle of season one, she ended up not picking either Steve or Matt in the season finale. Now that Scott Weinger and John Brotherton have been upped to series regulars in season two, it's safe to say we haven't seen the last of this triangle. "There’s some complications going on this year with Matt and Steve," reveals Franklin. "There’s a whole different storyline for the three of them [with D.J.]." And, according to TVLine, D.J. thinks she hits it off with another guy, but he turns out to be gay. This would mark the first time Full House or Fuller House has introduced a gay character, so it's about time. Meanwhile, TVLine also reports that Steve will begin dating a D.J. lookalike named C.J. Who else is getting Friends' Rachel/Russ/Ross vibes?
