Fire Emblem: Engage is switching up the main game with new characters, a story, and a whole new adventure to unroll. With a colorful cast of characters and a wide selection of classes, team options can seem infinite. Especially when characters can have their emblems to go alongside them, characters from past franchises teaming up to assist with skills, powerful moves, and more possibilities. Getting through the twenty-seven-chapter-long story takes time and characters that will be joining the team as party members are found throughout the adventure.

Making the best character for the team can be hard with all the different mechanics that count towards their stats. Even weapons can have their own stats, being fit for some while others not so much. Characters fit into different classes, sometimes the class best fit won't even be their own. Switching classes applies a slight stat boost to some stats while lowering others. This can make getting into other classes a bit easier than if that slight change wasn't there.
Who Is Lindon?
Lindon is the former trainer of King Hyacinths' older brother. He's a scholar from Elusia, along with Ivy and Hortensia's uncle. In his past, he taught magic to Elusian soldiers but is thus far retired from most of his duties. He's very cautious over Princess Ivy and Hortensia, deeming them to be extremely important. He is both first seen and joins the team in Chapter 18: The Cold Voyage, after finding out Ivy and Hortensia had joined Alear.

Base Build & Growth
Lindon starts out as a sage, with the battling style of Mystical. Being a Mystical fighter, his attacks will ignore any enemy terrain bonuses. He has the personal skill Weapon Insight, a very useful skill. If the enemy happens to have a weapon that's a higher level than Lindon's, he receives +20 Crit. This can catch him catch up to his enemies and have a better chance. If his weapon is only very slightly under-leveled, it can be used to overpower the enemy. The class he starts out from, the Sage class, is a class that's a level up from the Mage class. Lindon is based on magic, with a decent growth rate to go with it. He does best with those who might not have the highest magic but have good physical strength and defense of their own.

Lindon isn't an amazing fighter when it comes to strength, only have 8 strength to start off with. His magic is at 19, with a growth rate of 25%. With this, he shows off mostly in Health, Speed, and Resistance. He can hit fast, take hits better, and has a lot of defense for magical attacks. He's very useful for magic and can be used to tank some of those magic hits that team members with low resistance might not be able to.
This character is not meant to lead the battle, being used in the middle back mainly. While if he were to be in the front, he wouldn't immediately be crushed, his abilities and stats don't reflect those of a member to lead the team. He can be utilized for healing and supporting others with his magic, but at the same time turned around to be used on the offensive.

Best Classes For Lindon
Lindon can stay as a safe for his run in the game, racking up points towards his magic and becoming a brutal force on the team. Utilizing his magical abilities, speed, and health, he's a powerful force despite his seemingly low stat growth in some areas. Lindon can also support teammates against magic-orientated enemies, sweeping in to tank some of those hits and hitting back.
Recommended Emblems:
- Celica can help Lindon shine with Tome Precision and Magic. Tome Precision boots his hit and avoidance, giving him a solid upgrade. Magic boosts magic as it sounds, making him even more powerful against those who oppose him.
- Marth can give the skill Avoid, making Lindon capable of dodging more attacks than he normally would have.
- Lyn has Alacrity and Speedtaker, bringing Lindon's speed stat up drastically. Getting extra hits in can be useful to Lindon, especially when it's something essential like Heal. It could just save a team member or Lindon from getting hurt.
Heal is useful, while not offensive, and can be used to boost the health of others and Lindon himself once it gets lower. Fire, Thunder, and Wind are all useful offensive magical weaponry to equip. With any weapon that Lindon may have, make sure that it is a lower level compared to the foes in the area. If not, he won't be able to get that +20 crit during battle.
Lindon can fit into the Mage Knight class. This opens up access to new weapons, some physical. Matching up a physical weapon with a magic spell can pack a powerful punch. This leaves Lindon open to anti-calvary attacks, though, so be wary of who Lindon's up against. As a Mage Knight, Lindon is still best alongside others. Supporting or being supported by other characters, he's powerful on the battlefield. He does great alongside physical fighters, since he can't cover that physical fighting area by himself.
Recommended Emblems:
- Celica is still a great idea even in this class. Her skills are very useful, and she's a very powerful emblem.
- Lyn with her speed abilities is also quite useful here, especially with Lindon being on a horse.
- Corrin can also give good magical boosts, useful when the Mage Knight class has a focus on magic.
Fire, Thunder, and Wind are all good options for Lindon to have while in this class. Though, Lindon can hold physical weaponry now. The Flame Lance and Killer Lance are good physical weaponry options, with the Flame Lance bringing in magical elements to take advantage of that magic stat he has and his class.
Gifting Lindon
Gifting helps to boost motivation, unlock different gameplay routes, and explore all the dialogue for a specific character. The gift mechanic is based on preferences, each character has their own favorites based on their personality. With favorites come dislikes, and every character has their own personal dislikes. When gifting characters items, avoid items that they may dislike. Gifting a character an item they dislike will waste the item and do nothing in return.

Every character likes the Spirit Gem, regardless of their preferences. Spirit Gems are found in Somniel and only in Somniel. With his favorites, he has dislikes to match. Yet his dislikes are not as long as his favorites, making it easier to find things he'll enjoy compared to dislike. His dislikes are; Training Weights, Muscle Balm, Quality Kerchief, and the Fancy Dagger items. These will do nothing to boost any sort of stats or unlock any content. Lindon prefers books, arts, and food-related gifts.
