What Is Laenor Velaryon’s Role?
After Lady Laena, Laenor Velaryon is the only child and second child of Corlys and Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) (Savannah Steyn).
He appears in Episode 3 as a character played by Theo Nate, fighting alongside Corlys and Daemon (Matt Smith) in the Stepstones against the army of the Crabfeeder.
His most memorable scene occurs just as Daemon appears to be without hope. He gets ready to fight the enemy soldiers surrounding him before Laenor flies in on Seasmoke and drenches the beach in dragonflame.
Who is Seasmoke & How Can Laenor Ride A Dragon In House Of The Dragon?
You could be excused for thinking Laenor was riding Caraxes, but in House of the Dragon Episode 3: Seasmoke, he is actually riding his own dragon, which is smaller and has a paler appearance than other dragons like Daemon’s and Rhaenyra’s Syrax.
In Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin, Seasmoke bonded with Laenor in 101 BC, but he hadn’t yet ridden him. It’s not clear if he rode the dragon for the first time in Episode 3.
