Everyone Wants the Naomi Pierce Pixie After Watching the Succession Premiere

Succession is back for its fourth and final season, and fans are abuzz not just about a certain ludicrously capacious bag, but about Naomi Pierce’s new chop. It’s no secret that short hair is trending right now, and Annabelle Dexter-Jones, who plays Pierce on the show, is the latest celebrity to debut a shorter cut. 

The style in question is what hairstylist and Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute creative director Tatum Neill refers to as  a modern mixie—a cross between a mullet and a pixie. Neill says that the cut works on Pierce as a departure from her trademark bob “because she has delicate features that are accentuated by the short pieces of hair that frame her face.” He adds that this style is more fun and playful as opposed to her bob that gave “vibes of prestige and power.” 

Considering Pierce’s hair change isn’t a drastic one—she went from a short cut (an angled bob) to a slightly shorter cut (the mixie)—the reactions online are loud and enthusiastic. On Reddit, one user wrote, “Naomi Pierce is so damn stylish. I gasped when I saw her on screen cause her look killed it. The haircut the glasses the pants. All of it was just perfect.”

In the same thread, someone echoed that sentiment, likening the haircut to Princess Diana’s iconic hairstyle. They said, “She looked like Princess Di. Very painfully chic!!!” 

Another comparison was made between Pierce and The Parent Trap’s Elizabeth James, played by the late Natasha Richardson. “Naomi Pierce is rocking the Elizabeth James from ’98 Parent Trap haircut,” said @emmylanepotter, who included an image as reference, to which someone responded, “I was thinking Rosanna Arquette in Pulp Fiction.”
