Adenrele Oluwafemi Edun aka Denrele was born on June 3 1981 in Hamburg, Germany. His father is Yoruba from Ogun State, South-West Nigeria while his mother is Indian-Mauritian. Now we know he got his long woolly hair from his mixed bloodline. He is the only son and has two younger sisters, Aderonke Edun and Jumoke Edun. Aderonke lives a parallel lifestyle like her brother by being a tomboy who loves to rock men’s wear. Jumoke also likes to dress glamorously like her siblings.
Denrele grew up in Germany and moved to Nigeria with his family when he was five. He attended St Gregory’s College, Ikoyi, for his secondary education and the University of Lagos where he graduated with a B.Ed in English Education.
Denrele Edun career
Denrele Edun began his professional career as an actor at the young age of 11. He acted the role of a presenter and producer on Kiddievision 101 on the NTA Network. As an undergraduate of UNILAG, he began modelling. He also served as a backup dancer for some Nigerian celebrities like LexyDoo, Ruggedman, Jazzman Olofin, 2Shotz, Lady Di and also “Stage Shakers”. Before then he was the lead dancer/choreographer for “The Iroko Band’ managed by filmmaker, Dr Ola Balogun.

After he graduated from UNILAG, he joined Sound City as a TV presenter. He left Sound City and moved on to become one of Channel O’s VJ. Apart from interviewing international superstars, Denrele hosted the movie premiere of Hoodrush. He was also credited for being one of the brains behind the success of Big Brother Amplified Winner, Karen Igho.

Father
His father’s name is Adekunle Alaba Edun. On November 18, 2021, Denrele celebrated his father’s 80th birthday by sharing rare photos with his dad and siblings. In his Instagram post, Denrele described how his dad lost his bakery business and the family had to move from their opulent duplex to an uncompleted building with no doors and windows.
Now, “Papa” as Denrele fondly calls his dad, is living with him as the TV personality says he wants to make up for lost time and give him the life he rightly deserves and used to know in Europe.
Mother
Denrele Edun’s mother’s name is Anita Atwaroo Dhuwantee Edun. She is of Indian descent and partly Mauritian. Anita lives in Dublin, Ireland, where she has spent 16 years and her son often visits her there. According to Denrele, his mother is his voice of reason and he misses her all the time. He even composed a touching poem for her birthday. Anita supports her son and everything he does.

The Mass Communication graduate from the Wesley University of Science and Technology, Ondo State, is a female cobbler and founder of Rani AJ shoe brand. She also tried her hand at acting and even aspired to be an air hostess before she decided to follow her passion in shoemaking. Jumoke described Denrele as her role model and teacher.
Relationship/marriage
Denrele is not yet married and there is no report of a romantic relationship with anyone. His relationship status has been a source of controversy as his sexuality is constantly questioned. Denrele has refused to confirm or deny whether he was gay, preferring to keep it a mystery. However, he was said to be in an intimate relationship with late married singer, Goldie. He visited her gravesite on Valentine’s Day to mark the anniversary of her death.
