Gauff came up against world no.2 Aryna Sabalenka in New York in just her second ever women's singles final appearance having made the French Open final last year.

Despite losing the first set she pulled off an excellent comeback to win 2-6 6-3 6-2.

Such a win has now seen her pick up the first Grand Slam of her career, and many feel there is plenty more to come.

Footage of her at Flushing Meadows 11 years ago as a fan emerged on social media in a wholesome moment as Gauff started her celebrations.
