City of Charlotte rolls out community fund for nonprofits – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE — The City of Charlotte has announced $2.5 million in grants as it rolls out a new Community Resilience Fund.

The grants will be open to nonprofits that serve communities that have been financially impacted by COVID-19.

Nonprofits that foster connections between neighbors, support workforce development, social safety networks, and other programs that impact the community.

Nonprofit organizations can submit applications for grants of up to $250,000 and the grants must be used to support operating costs that include staffing, rent, supplies, and general overhead.

The grant cannot be used to cover capital costs and the requests can not exceed 30% of the organization’s total budget.

The period to submit applications started on May 18 and will close on June 30. A virtual application workshop will take place June 1 to assist nonprofits. The nonprofits must serve a public good within Charlotte. For more information on the grant, click here.
