Chapter 68 discussed the implications of Momoshiki’s sacrifice and dispelled many misconceptions about him still being a threat, even if he can no longer reincarnate completely. The chapter also shifted the focus to Amado after Code appeared, infiltrating Konoha via a claw mark he had left on Shikamaru, as most readers predicted.
Shikamaru, on the other hand, was no fool, revealing that he had purposefully lured Code into Amado’s lab and unleashed Delta on him. It didn’t stop there, though, because at the last second, Code drew Eida through a claw mark, officially bringing her into a confrontation for the first time.

Delta and Code will most likely clash in Chapter 69, while Eida manipulates the other shinobi with her abilities. Most readers are concerned that Shikamaru will succumb to her charms, because it may be impossible to capture or neutralise Code without his strategic abilities.
Boruto may have to intervene because only Amado, Daemon, and those with Otsutsuki genes are immune to Eida’s charms.
Another possibility is that Kawaki will awaken and join the battle. Knowing Eida’s crush on Kawaki, it’s not a stretch to think she’d agree to leave Konoha and take Code with her if he agreed to accompany them.

That would also be an interesting way to connect the manga’s current timeline to the post-timeskip scene depicted at the start of the series, in which Kawaki appears to be an antagonist or at least at odds with Boruto.
Another possibility is that Shikamaru has another trick up his sleeve that will save the day. However, the way he is being cast in the spotlight has many fans worried that this will lead to Shikamaru’s demise.
What Chapter 69 has in store for fans will not be revealed until April 20th. However, leaked chapter spoilers will be available soon, providing some more hints about events that will occur in the narrative.
