Individual Note

Benjamin was the 12th son of Jacob and founder of one of the tribes of Israel, he was the second born son of Jacob's beloved second wife, Rachael. His mother was dying at the time of his birth and she named him Benoni. Jacob, however called him Benjamin, son of the right hand. He was called a ravenous wolf. His father loved him and so did Joseph. Benjamin's tribesmen were unlike him. They were archers, skilled to deadly perfection in the use of the bow. There was great names among them: Saul, the first King of Isreal was as Benjamite; Paul of Tarsus, a Hebrew fo the Hebrews was another. Their territory lay north of Judah's.
