Ayakashi Triangle Anime to Resume in July After COVID-19 Delay
Fans of the Ayakashi Triangle anime will be pleased to hear that the series is set to resume its originally scheduled broadcast of 12 episodes in July, after being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The anime will re-air from episode 1, with broadcast dates and times to be announced in the future.
Production Delayed by COVID-19
The staff of Ayakashi Triangle delayed the fifth episode and beyond in January due to the effects of COVID-19 on the production schedule. The fourth episode aired on schedule on January 30, but the anime began reruns on February 6, the fifth episode’s originally scheduled air date. The fifth episode later aired on March 6 after a delay, and the sixth episode followed on March 13.
Blu-ray Disc/DVD Volume Delayed
The first Blu-ray Disc/DVD volume of the anime has also been delayed from March 29 to September 27. The subsequent second to the sixth monthly volumes have also been delayed to October 2023 to February 2024.

The Show Must Go On
Ayakashi Triangle is the third Aniplex television anime this season to suffer from delays, following NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a and UniteUp!. Despite these setbacks, the show premiered on January 9 in Japan, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.
Storyline and Characters
The story follows teenager Kazamaki Matsuri, who is part of an elite force of ninja exorcists tasked with fighting malicious ayakashi spirits who threaten Japan. Matsuri fiercely protects his childhood friend, the spirit medium Kanade Suzu, and as their relationship blooms from friendship into something more, a powerful cat ayakashi casts a forbidden spell that turns Matsuri into a woman. With no apparent way to undo the spell, Matsuri must continue battling ayakashi and go back to school in this new feminine body until he can find a way to turn back.
The series is based on Kentaro Yabuki’s manga of the same name, which is published in English digitally by Viz Media and Shueisha, and the compiled book volumes are released digitally and physically by Seven Seas.
Talented Staff Behind the Scenes
The anime is directed by Noriaki Akitaya, with Kei Umabiki as assistant director. Shogo Yasukawa is in charge of the series scripts, while Hideki Furukawa designed the characters. Jin Aketagawa serves as the sound director, and Rei Ishizuka composes the music.
