Attack on Titan Movie After Season 4 Part 2 Rumor Explained

Ever since MAPPA started the broadcast for Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2, a rumor surfaced online that the anime will conclude with a movie. Well, here’s everything you need to know about it.

Attack on Titan started in 2013, and WIT Studio’s incredible work instantly took the anime to the top. After the remarkable success of the first season, the anime received three more seasons. However, MAPPA took the responsibility to animate the final season of the series, and WIT Studio moved to its other projects like Spy x Family.

Similar to the third season, MAPPA divided the Final season into two parts. The first part arrived last year and featured 16 episodes. After a year-long break, the anime returned with Part 2 of Season 4, and MAPPA confirmed that the second part would consist of 12 episodes. However, even after a total of 28 episodes in the final season, Attack on Titan couldn’t cover all 139 chapters of the manga series.

Attack on Titan Movie Rumor Explained

After the final episode of Season 4 Part 2, the Attack on Titan anime will still have nine chapters left. And since the studio has enough source material left, several rumors stated that we’d get a movie, which will eventually end the story.

Well, it’s now confirmed that Attack on Titan Season 4 will get a Part 3 to cover the rest of the chapters. So, it’s obvious that the creators are going for more episodes instead of a movie.

MAPPA usually tells the events of one chapter in a single episode. And given that there are nine chapters left, one movie wouldn’t have been enough to complete the entire story. So, the possibility of the Final season Part 3 felt more likely, and it’s understandable why the studio isn’t going for a movie.

Also, some fans thought that the directors would prove every rumor false by giving us an Anime-Original-Ending (AOE) in the final episode of Part 2. But the producers have already confirmed that they plan to adapt the manga until the end (Via: Anime News Network). Well, as promised, episode 12 of Season 4 Part 2 stays true to the source material and adapts Chapter 130 of the manga.
