Greek superstar Stefanos Tsitsipas has been one of the best player on tour. He had an amazing first half of the season. He made it to the semifinal of the Australian Open and was the best clay court player of the season where he won the Monte Carlo Masters and Lyon Open. He then reached his maiden grand slam final at Roland Garros and was just a set away from winning it. Post Wimbledon, he made back-to-back semifinals at Toronto and Cincinnati before reaching the quarterfinals at Indian Wells.

He then withdrew mid-match at the Paris Masters as a precautionary measure. This week at Turin, he lost his first match against Andrey Rublev in straight sets 4-6,4-6.

Casper Ruud has been one of the most successful player this season. After getting knocked out of the first round at Wimbledon, he won three consecutive titles- the Swedish Open, the Swiss Open and the Austrian Open. He then reached the quarterfinals at both Toronto and Cincinnati Masters. After US Open, he won the San Diego Open before a couple of quarterfinal outings at Vienna and Bercy. In his first match at Turin this week, he lost to top seed Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-7(4),2-6.
