Are There Fairy Types in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl?

Fairy-type Pokemon were introduced in the series’ sixth generation, across both Pokemon X and Y and Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

It joined the likes of Dark and Steel-types in joining the games late and holds its place as one of the 18 different possible types.

Of course, with Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, remakes of Gen Four’s Diamond and Pearl, now on the horizon, players are wondering if Fairy-types will be in the game. This is because they weren’t available when the titles were first released back in 2006. Let’s take a look at if they are.

Are There Fairy Types in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl?

Fans of Fairy-type Pokemon will be pleased to know that they will be available in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Any Pokemon that was once a single type but later merged into a dual Fairy-type Pokemon will retain its new type combination.

That being said, as Fairy-types weren’t released when Diamond and Pearl initially came out, the only pure Fairy-type Pokemon you’ll find in the game are ones that have been converted.
