“All these American boxers/trainers love police cell” – Gervonta Davis’ trainer arrested on charges of ‘assault with deadly weapon’ leaves boxing world divided
Calvin Ford is famous for being the boxing trainer of Gervonta Davis. He has lately come into felony problems. The police arrested Ford in Baltimore in late December, stemming from an incident in Las Vegas. He is accused of 2 counts of assault with a lethal weapon. However, the incidents leading up to this remain unclear. Moreover, the information about the Las Vegas incident remains undisclosed.
Davis recently converted to Islam and has adopted the new name Abdul Wahid. In the past, Davis also spent time in jail, as did other prominent boxers. This made one fan comment, “All these American boxers/trainers love police cell.”
Ford is credited with shaping the careers of Baltimore youths, along with Gervonta Davis, into top athletes. Ford’s rise to prominence within the countrywide boxing scene started in the 1990s, following a prison stint for racketeering and conspiracy convictions. His life story even partly inspired the role of Dennis “Cutty” Wise in the HBO television series The Wire.

Everyone is Innocent until proven guilty. There is more to the story than what is written. I know Calvin very well and he is a great person 💯💯💯

Since the entire story has not been told, jumping to conclusions would be foolish. Therefore, one must not jump to conclusions. Some fan reactions also focused on a person being innocent until proven guilty. Only time will tell what will happen to Ford.
