28 Best Fall Shoes of 2023, According to Glamour Editors
The best part of any new season is the shoes, of course. In anticipation of autumn’s grand return, now’s the perfect time to snap up the best fall shoes—and we know just the pairs that’ll turn heads this season. Form and function are equally important to our favorite fall shoe trends of 2023; from wear-everywhere loafers to walking-friendly white sneakers, these pairs are all wardrobe essentials you’ll keep wearing well beyond November.
So what’s new for fall? Understated classics—black pumps, Mary Jane flats, penny loafers—are trending and happen to go with everything that’s already in your fall wardrobe. On the flashier front, cowboy boots and dorky-cool clogs are going strong and play well with everything from heritage denim to miniskirts. (They’ll also help finish out your Barbie Halloween costume later this season.)
Whatever aesthetic speaks to you this fall, you deserve a shiny new pair of shoes to get you through a packed calendar of posing, apple picking, and leaf crunching. (There may even be a certain spiced latte involved if you’re really in the mood to get autumnal.) These are the best fall shoes of 2023, straight from the runways and your feeds.

There’s never a bad time to bust out a pair of loafers, but they’re at the height of their powers in the fall. The look changes a little each season; while the past few autumns have been dominated by loafers with chunky silhouettes and lug soles, on influencers and Alexander McQueen and Loewe models alike, the silhouette has started to deflate, with slimmer soles and stitching that hew closer to the traditional penny loafer. We’re not complaining.
