10 Best Hunter Exotic Armors, Ranked
The Hunters of Destiny 2 are best known for their high mobility and high damage output, and their exotic armor pieces are built around these stats. These stats are important because of their low damage resistance. The Hunter exotic armor pieces also improve aspects of their different subclasses, as well as their ability to use certain weapons, such as Bows and Hand Cannons.

Whether you like playing as an Arcstrider, Nightstalker, Gunslinger, or Revenant, there is a piece of exotic armor that is best for you and will maximize your abilities for your build. There are so many choices, and it can be hard to just pick one. This run down will help you make a decision.
10 Foetracer
Foetracer is a good baseline exotic that will work with any subclass or build. Its intrinsic perk, Relentless Tracker, visually marks targeted enemies and makes you deal more damage to low-health marked enemies. This is a great ability to have in the Crucible and Iron Banner, where seeing the enemy first grants an extreme advantage in winning gunfights. This helmet is best paired with a Pulse or Scout Rifle. Any longer range weapon will also do.
It is slightly less useful in PvE activities, though, and it loses points in that regard. This exotic helmet can be found by opening exotic engrams or by visiting Xur over the weekend if he's selling it.
9 Sealed Ahamkara Grasps
Another great choice for any subclass is the Sealed Ahamkara Grasps. Nightmare Fuel, its intrinsic perk, reloads your currently equipped weapon whenever you deal melee damage. As with the previous entry, this is a great exotic armor piece to use in the Crucible or any PvP activity. This armor is slightly more useful in PvE than the last entry, though.
It's perfect for Hunters who like to get up close with their enemies. This armor works best when paired with an SMG, Shotgun, or any gun with a small magazine or a long reload animation. The Sealed Ahamkara Grasps can be acquired by opening exotic engrams or being purchased from Xur.
8 ST0MP-EE5
ST0MP-EE5, pronounced Stompees, are made for Hunters who strive to move the fastest and jump the highest that they can. Their intrinsic perk, Hydraulic Boosters, increase your jump height and slide distance. They also improve Strafe Jump, Triple Jump, and High Jump.

This leg armor is recommended for Hunters who like to out maneuver their opponents or those who have problems navigating jumping puzzles. That being said, Stompees can be effective in both PvE and PvP playlists. Any fully automatic weapons are recommended to be used with this exotic. Stompees can be found by opening exotic engrams or by visiting Xur over the weekend.
7 Celestial Nighthawk
This helmet is built for maximizing boss damage and killing yellow health enemies. Celestial Nighthawk's intrinsic perk, Hawkeye Hack, modifies the Gunslinger Golden Gun super to fire a single high damage shot. Any enemies defeated by the shot explode and grant you super energy. This helmet is useful in low level Nightfall strikes and some dungeon encounters because of it's boss-killing ability.
However, in higher difficulty activities, its damage is out-classed by other exotics. It is also important that you know the enemies critical damage spot to maximize your damage output. Celestial Nighthawk can be found in exotic engrams or be acquired from Xur over the weekend.
6 FR0ST-EE5
Like Stompees, Frostees are all about moving fast and killing enemies fast. These are higher up on the list because of their intrinsic perk, Rapid Cooldown, which gives increased grenade, melee, and dodge regeneration while sprinting. Dodging while wearing these also increases your sprint speed.
These are comparable to the Titan exotic Heart of Inmost Light, as far as improving ability reload. Frostees also work with any subclass, which is another plus, and are also great in both PvP and PvE. This speedy leg armor can be found in exotic engrams and be purchased from Xur.
5 Shards of Galanor
Shards of Galanor is another great exotic to use for boss damage that doesn't require as much accuracy as Celestial Nighthawk. It's intrinsic perk, Sharp Edges, makes hits and kills with the solar subclass Blade Barrage return super energy after the super ends. This is great for clearing small bosses or large groups of enemies, plus you will get some of your used super energy back and use Blade Barrage again.
This is slightly less useful in PvP because less energy per kill will be refunded. Shards of Galanor can be found by opening exotic engrams or by visiting Xur during the weekend.
4 Liar's Handshake
Liar's Handshake is the first and only Arc Subclass exotic on this list for a reason. The others aren't great, and this one is better than all the others put together. It's intrinsic perk, Cross Counter, allows you to follow up with an extremely powerful counter-punch when you get melee attacked — or after you use your melee ability. This counter-attack will also heal you.

This is extremely useful in all modes, especially PvP. It's even better if you're a Hunter who likes to get into the faces of the enemy. Liar’s Handshake is best used in tandem with Shotguns and SMGs. You can find this arc powerhouse by opening exotic engrams or by visiting Xur over the weekend.
3 Lucky Pants
Lucky Pants are perfect for Hunters who want to unleash their inner cowboy, all thanks to their signature look and intrinsic perk. Illegally Modded Holster makes your Hand Cannons ready faster and more accurate immediately after swapping to them. Its perk also makes fully loaded Hand Cannons increase hit damage for each consecutive hit on a combatant as well, and it will slowly be refilled after landing precision hits.
These pants make your Hand Cannons even more powerful than they already are and add some sweet bonuses on the side. Lucky Pants are great in any activity and are recommended to be used with the exotic weapons The Last Word or Hawkmoon. This beast can be found in exotic engrams as well as be purchased from Xur.
2 Star-Eater Scales
Star-Eater Scales are great, but not as good as they once were. Their intrinsic perk, Feast of Light, give you additional super energy from orbs you pick up,. In addition, picking up an orb when your super is active overcharges your super. When you are at maximum overcharge, they grant you an overshield. These have since been nerfed and are now harder to charge because of how many more orbs they take to overcharge.
They're good at boss damage, and they require an orb making build to be used effectively. Star-Eater Scales can only be acquired by completing Legendary or Master difficulty Lost Sectors on a certain day of the week.
1 Orpheus Rig
Orpheus Rig is at number one because of its usability in all modes as well as ease of use. It also the best void-based Nightstalker exotic armor for Hunters in the game. It's intrinsic perk, Uncanny Arrows, provide ability energy for each enemy tethered by Deadfall anchors. You are also able to fire more arrows with the Nightstalker Bow. Orpheus Rig is great for clearing large amounts of enemies in Raids and Dungeons, as well as amplifying boss damage for your team.
They also work well in PvP areas because of the ability to fire more arrows at enemies. This leg armor is easy to get by opening exotic engrams as well as visiting Xur over the weekend.
