'GMA's Ginger Zee canceled by fans after she promotes drag queen Pattie Gonia on Instagram

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Good Morning America’ meteorologist Ginger Zee has faced the wrath of her fans after promoting the profile of drag queen and environmentalist Pattie Gonia on her Instagram.

The 42-year-old ‘GMA’ star interviewed Gonia for the ABC program ‘Nightline’ and shared a few snaps and a brief clip of her interaction with the drag queen.

Gonia has amassed a reputation as a climate change activist with the objective of "building a more diverse outdoor and climate movement.”

Zee’s interview wasn’t liked by the fans who criticized and tried to cancel her for stooping low to promote “political agendas”

Zee took to Instagram to share a few snaps of her interview with Gonia. In one of the three posts, Zee can be seen twirling around in a long white transparent skirt decorated with plastic flowers as Gonia applauds her for donning the attire.

The ‘GMA’ meteorologist was also spotted enjoying a one-on-one moment with Gonia in a small backyard laden with greenery. Gonia also posed for a quick photo with a crewman, completing Zee’s carousel post on Instagram.

Zee introduced Gonia in her caption and told her fans that they could catch the interview on ‘Nightline'

She captioned her post, “Tonight on @nightline allow me to introduce you to @pattiegonia — a drag queen & environmentalist who is dedicated to building a more diverse outdoor and climate movement.”

Zee’s intentions were pure but the fans didn’t seem to be interested in the ‘GMA’ star’s endorsement of the drag queen and slammed her for promoting political agendas instead of reporting on climate change which is indeed her job.

Zee did lose a few fans after her post about Gonia, and who were furious at the meteorologist for furthering a cause other than climate change.

One wrote, “Annnnd I’m out. I followed you for your weather, not political agendas. Go back to your roots of meteorology.”

A second said, “And this is where you lose me as a fan Ginger”, while a third added, “So out of all the scientists in the world this is who you chose to spotlight. Did you let your boy sit in his lap while he wears his body suit and makeup? You make a mockery of smart people.”
